Pleco Chips is the main food without colorings and preservatives for rasping and sucking bottom-dwelling fish such as Ancistrus and other L-number catfish. The balanced formula contains a high proportion of dietary fiber (including fibers from willow bark and nettle) as well as natural spirulina to support healthy digestion and development.

The fast-sinking chips soften in water but retain their shape for at least 24 hours and do not pollute the water. This allows the predominantly nocturnal catfish to feed slowly in accordance with their natural feeding habits.

Species-appropriate diet for catfish

Catfish are often rather shy aquarium inhabitants. Some species are crepuscular or nocturnal and search for food either by sifting through the substrate or by rasping and sucking it from surfaces. Therefore, they require food that sinks to the bottom and retains its shape for a long time.

Most catfish are omnivores, although some species prefer more plant-based food (e.g., armored catfish) or animal-based food (e.g., Corydoras). Sera offers three different staple foods for catfish, each designed with a specific composition and structure to meet their nutritional needs.

Feed sparingly once a day; for nocturnal fish preferably in the evening.
